3 Different Patients with Dual Antiplatelet Therapy Requiring Non-Cardiac Surgery
Dual antiplatelet therapy, DAPT, is prescribed to millions of patients worldwide following coronary artery stenting. A significant number of these patients undergo non-cardiac surgery. This poses a significant dilemma because of the risk of stent thrombosis and myocardial infarct versus the risk of perioperative bleeding. 3 patients will be presented with 3 different common clinical scenarios, leading to evidence-based discussion of practical strategies for managing perioperative antiplatelet therapy.
