Wusthoff\, MD\, MS\, FAAP \nThis session will review current evidence for the evaluation and management children presenting with a first seizure. Included will be cases and tips relevant to the primary care provider\, ER physician\, and to those triaging specialty referrals. Guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics will be discussed in detail. \nDesired Outcomes: \n\nDistinguish febrile seizure from seizure with fever.\nDetermine the most appropriate diagnostic work up after a first seizure.\nDescribe fist steps in caring for a child with suspected epilepsy.
