Nassar\, MD\, MSc\, FRCSC\, FACS\, CHSE \nPrevention of Surgical Site Infections \nSurgical-site infections (SSIs) are known to complicate 2-5% of all surgeries in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has just issued updated evidence-based guidelines for SSI prevention. The guidelines cover 14 core areas and are intended to be incorporated into existing surgical quality improvement programs to maximize patient safety.
