DESCRIPTION:Arash Asher\, MD\, is the Director of Cancer Survivorship & Rehabilitation at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at Cedars-Sinai.\nwith Arash Asher\, MD \nDr. Asher has a special interest in the physical and rehabilitative needs of cancer survivors who continue to experience the effects of their cancer or its treatment. Dr. Asher’s expertise is in the non-pharmacologic management of pain\, cancer-related fatigue\, cognitive dysfunction\, neuropathy\, exercise prescription for cancer patients\, and the management other musculoskeletal problems. \nDr. Asher completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the UCLA/Greater Los Angeles VA\, and a cancer rehabilitation fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston\, Texas. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. \nDesired Outcomes: \n\nAppreciate the proposed pathophysiologic mechanisms behind cognitive dysfunction and cancer-related fatigue among cancer survivors;\nUnderstand mechanisms by which therapeutic exercise mitigates fatigue and possibly improves survival among cancer survivors;\nRecognize the different management principles between the negative and positive symptoms of peripheral neuropathy.\n\nCME Activity Flyer (PDF)
